We are delighted to announce that Ms. Uma Shanker, Founder–Director of IMTC–Chennai, has been elected as the President of Indian Montessori Centre, Bangalore
Mrs. Uma Shanker succeeds Dr. B. V. A. Rao, who has led the organization with distinction since its inception for over three decades. The Indian Montessori Centre (IMC) was founded in 1989 in Bangalore, to propagate the Montessori philosophy and the method of education, through the establishment of teacher training centres in India.
Over the decades, Ms. Uma Shanker has contributed significantly to IMC’s initiatives in numerous leadership roles including Secretary–General, Director–General, Mentor-Advisor and member of the Governing Council. Her unwavering commitment and deep understanding of Montessori philosophy make her an inspiring choice to lead IMC into its next stage of growth.
